The Wish-Fulfilling Jewel Appeal

The Wish-Fulfilling Jewel Appeal was launched on Sangha Morning on Saturday 15th September. The aim of the appeal is to completely refurbish our main shrine room. We have estimated that the total project will cost around £50,000. In order to raise enough money for the project, and to enable us to plan the work, we are requesting that people sign up for a monthly donation by standing order. To give an idea of the scope, If 100 people pledge a monthly standing order of £42 this would take us a year, and if 100 people pledge £25 a month, this would take us just under 2 years. Therefore we're launching the fundraising in 4 stages, with each stage being completed when we reach that target:

1) Remove the ceiling, insulate and fit wood cladding, new lighting - £10,000
2) Remove, insulate and replace walls and patio doors - £20,000
3) Remove, insulate and replace flooring and install new heating - £8,000
4) Commission a new Rupa and build a new shrine - £12,000

Below are some ways in which you can contribute to our fundraising appeal and we will be adding more details about activities etc in the coming weeks. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact us here

Monthly Standing Order

Making donations by Monthly Standing Order has to be the simplest and most effective way of supporting any charity. You can choose how much is donated to the appeal fund each month and for whatever length of time.

In addition, If you pay tax, you can Gift Aid all your donations with just one form. Therefore if you complete a standing order for £10 a month with Gift Aid, we will recieve £12.50. If you'd like to complete a Standing Order Donation, please print out the form here, complete and post it to us.

Directly to the Centre

If you would like to make a donation directly to the centre, you can give a donation when you visit the centre. If you pay tax, please fill in a Gift Aid envelope. This allows us to claim back 25p in Tax for every £1 you donate.

Alternatively you can send us a cheque made payable to Triratna Buddhist Community Surrey and post it with a Gift Aid declaration form, which can be printed off here

We are happy to recieve donations without Gift Aid if you do not pay tax or would rather not complete the Gift Aid form.

Via PayPal

As the charity has a PayPal account, you can donate funds directly online. You don't even have to have a Paypal account as they can process payments from your debit/credit card through their secure payment gateway. We're working on enabling Gift Aid through Paypal but at present we can take non Gift Aid donations by following this link.
