Croydon Buddhist Centre
We want to make the teachings of the Buddha and the benefits of meditation available to all people in our local community. However, our building is on a slope, so the access to our reception and shrine room is via a set of stairs.
We have visitors who can't yet access our classes, but want to come to classes. We have researched wheelchair lift options advice and have decided on an 'Inclined Platform Lift', which will provide an self-controlled 'roll on-roll off' lift for those in wheelchairs and with mobility aids.
You can help us in several ways;
~ make a direct one off donation
~ set up a standing order
~ organise a fundraising event via MyDonate,
~ do bake sales etc at the Buddhist Centre,
~ do a swimathon, bike ride, sponsored walk or a marathon.
~ be creative, have fun, build sangha
If you're a UK tax payer, please complete a Gift Aid Form. This enables us to claim back 25p for every £1 you donate, at no cost to you. £10 becomes £12.50, £100 becomes an amazing £125.
Donate via the MyDonate button below and click on the Wheelchair Lift Appeal at the bottom of the page, or directly through the Buddhist Centre.
Gift Aid declarations can be found at the Buddhist Centre or can be downloaded here.
The fundraising has gotten off to a great start with nearly £2500 so far! Why not organise your own fundraiser? At the centre we have a plant sale, homemade slippers for sale and many more activities planned – watch this space!
Thank you all for the generous donations so far, do keep them coming. Special thanks to Maddem Films Ltd who kindly made a donation to our appeal whilst their cast and crew were filming nearby.
