Newcomers and more experienced all welcome

Human desire often seems like a problem. Our world is burning with wasted energy as we seek out things that we want, but don't really need.

The Buddha taught that while desire can be a problem, it can also be our greatest strength. If we learn to contain, channel and master our desire, it can become a potent spiritual force, granting us inner contentment, freedom from fear, and limitless creativity.

This intensive meditation course will take us through a four-stage process in transforming the fire of desire into spiritual power. Using the Buddha's teaching on the bases of spiritual power (the iddhipadas), we will learn to take back our wasted energy, develop deep resources of inner strength, and become a powerful resource in our own and others' lives.

We are running this course at two levels. See below for details, and choose your level at the booking page.  Level 1. Suitable as your first introduction to Buddhist meditation, or a refresher.  Learn to notice and steer currents of desire, in meditation and your life. Increasing your awareness through meditation, learn where your energy is being wasted; where fear gets in the way of following what you really want; and how to tell the difference between shallow and deep desire. Discover meditation as a resource for healthy pleasure, calm and fulfilment. --We ask those who sign up for Level 1 to commit to meditate for at least 40 minutes each day for the duration of the course--  Level 2. Suitable for those who have already completed a Level 1 meditation course with us. An in-depth guide to working with subtle energetic currents in and out of meditation. Learn to ride the fine edge between craving and spiritual longing, harnessing your deepest and strongest energies in service of real value. Discover how to move more reliably into deeply pleasurable, blissful and empowering meditative states. -- We ask those who sign up for Level 2 to commit to meditate for at least 60 minutes each day for the duration of the course-.

Dana Economy. All our classes offering Buddhist teaching are by donation, because we believe that the Buddha's teachings should be freely given. We recommend a donation of £100 / £80 for this course, but we welcome you however much you can afford to give.
