Recently at Croydon Buddhist Centre our theme has been "Building the Buddhaland". We've been examining Buddhist teachings and perspectives on how to build a better world. Continuing that topic, we're going to explore the life and thinking of Dr Ambedkar - one of the greatest and most inspiring social reformers of the twentieth century.

Born in India as an "untouchable", Ambedkar worked struggled tirelessly for the social and political emancipation of those oppressed by caste. Eventually he became a Buddhist and urged his followers to do likewise, to further liberate their hearts and minds from the pernicious effects of caste. Why Buddhism? How did Ambedkar see Buddhism's social dimension?

Join Simhasraddha and Vajragupta for an inspiring story of hope and freedom, and for important lessons in what Buddhism can offer the world today. All welcome.

Note: there will be a break from the series of talks on 11 February in order to mark the Paranirvana Day festival.

Just turn up in-person, or use the Zoom link below.
