The simple Buddhist life might seem boring at first glance. Perhaps we associate Buddhism with a contented monk, sitting quietly in meditation, not doing anything extravagant. In the modern world with its many beauties and thrills, this image might not seem that exciting.
However, what the Buddha taught was radical and completely perspective-shifting. To live by it requires a change more profound than anything the world has offered before or ever since. The Buddhist life can be far more exciting than that proposed by consumer capitalism.
