Buddha in the City, Buddha in the Forest
We have special guest, Ratnaprabha, join us for this morning. Here will explore whether Buddhism is something for the urban environment. In the times of the Buddha, many would go off to meditate in the forests, so what does that mean for us today? Open to all.

All Welcome,
Was Buddhism designed for city dwellers, or for secluded country retreat?
If you look at the life of the Buddha, he left the city to meditate in the forest and seek Enlightenment. But once he'd found it, he went back, and, later on, monasteries were established in towns and cities. The "city" is used as an image or symbol in some early Buddhist stories, so maybe Buddhism was an "urban" religion?
A talk by special guest Ratnaprabha - chair of the North London Buddhist Centre, long-standing member of the Triratna Buddhist Order, and author of two books on Buddhism. Join him for a fascinating exploration of early Buddhism, and its relevance to our lives in the city environment.
