Details
Join us for a mindful qigong session with experienced qigong teacher, Andrew.
The first part of the session focuses on releasing chronic tension in the neck, spine, and shoulders through a specialised seated adaptation of the Eight Brocades (Baduanjin) and other qigong exercises. By translating these slow rhythmic movements into a chair-based posture, you will learn to release tension, open the joints, and improve breathing and internal circulation.
The second part of the workshop moves from larger movements to refined internal cultivation, to support Buddhist practice. Through targeted breath awareness, self-massage, and slow movements, you will develop the energy and stability to support longer periods of meditation; and through clearing physical discomfort and stagnation improve your ability to sit for longer periods e.g. on a meditation cushion.
Qigong's integration of breath and body trains the nervous system to remain poised and relaxed, transforming physical friction into a steady state of equanimity.
