Devagosha
Men's Mitra Convenor
Devaghosha works alongside Danakumara, mentoring and offering spiritual friendship to male Mitras (people who have made a commitment to the Buddhist path), men who wish to become Mitras, and men training for ordination in the Triratna Buddhist Order.
Devaghosha was ordained into the Triratna Buddhist Order in 2019, and moved to the Croydon Buddhist Centre shortly afterwards, when he was invited to co-lead a class in the Dharma Training Course for Mitras. He has taught on the course ever since, both in-person and online.
Devaghosha has benefitted from kind, generous and learned teaching and training in the Dharma, and finds it natural to “pay this forward,” or better, pass it on.
A science graduate, now retired from a career in scientific and technical publishing, Devaghosha is in a book club with his husband Roger, also enjoying art gallery visits with him. (Roger is an amateur artist.) Devaghosha’s other interests include Baroque music (Bach, Handel and their contemporaries), railways, and, seeing that we are in Croydon, trams.
