Mind, Ractive and Creative: A practical course in creativity
Wouldn't it be nice to be a bit more creative in the ways we respond to situations in life? To not react in the same habitual ways then lead to the same results? This course will explore creativity and is offered at two levels: for newcomers and for more experienced people. Thursdays 1pm - 2:30pm.

One of the Buddha’s key insights is that our state of mind conditions our thoughts, which in turn condition our actions, and thereby our world.
This course explores the idea that the mind operates in two very different ways, and that the spiritual life is essentially a movement from one to the other.
We have the choice of being either reactive or creative, not just once, but at every moment. We will investigate just what that means in our own lives, looking at ways in which we can become less reactive and more creative, with a combination of teaching, discussion, meditation and practical exercises.
The path to Enlightenment, then, is one of ever-increasing creativity. We look at one of the Buddha’s teachings in which he describes a sequence of ever-increasing creative states of mind, all the way to Enlightenment.
This course runs at two levels:
Level 1. Suitable for newcomers or those looking for a refresher. Learn meditation from scratch, and find out how to apply simple principles to unlock the mind’s creative potential. Note: By signing up to Level 1, you commit to at least 30 minutes of home practice each day during the course.
Level 2. Suitable for those who have been practising with us for at least six months. Explore key Buddhist teachings on conditionality, learning to apply them both in meditation and daily life to unlock the creative dimension of mind. Note: By signing up to Level 2, you commit to 45 minutes of home practice each day during the course.
Dana Economy. All our courses offering Buddhist teaching are by donation, because we believe that the Buddha's teachings should be freely given. We recommend a donation of £50 / £35 for this course, but we welcome you however much you can afford to give.
