Details
Join us for a mindful qigong session with experienced qigong teacher, Andrew.
This session will build on the five animals qigong introduced in July, with some related walking forms. It will also introduce some of the uses of sound in qigong. (NB: It's not necessary to have been to the July workshop.)
The Five Animals Qigong (Wu Qin Xi, or Five Animal Frolics) is one of the oldest forms of medical Qigong. It was developed nearly 2,000 years ago by the legendary physician, Hua Tuo.
The movements are designed to mimic the qualities and spirit of each animal, cultivating specific benefits:
Tiger: Strength, power, and courage. Strengthens the liver and gall bladder.
Deer: Grace, relaxation, and serenity. Strengthens the kidneys and bladder.
