Led by Cara, Clem and Kit (Sub 35’s Team)
Donation, £10/£8 (dinner included)
Open to anyone under 35.
Join us for an evening with the Gods and Goddesses! We will be spending the time together discussing the place of Gods, Demons, Ghosts, Geists, Yakshas, Bodhisattvas and all things non-material! Buddhism is often portrayed as rationalistic and atheistic. There is truth in this: Buddhists don’t believe in a creator-god. But the Buddhist scriptures are full of accounts of meeting with supernatural beings! According to these ancient sources, Buddha encountered a veritable host of mythic entities during his life of teaching and practice. Is this just superstition? In our increasingly materialistic society where do these stories fit? Is it necessary to entertain the possibility that these beings as real, metaphorical or something else?
Can we even possibly invite the Gods and Goddesses into our lives?
Dana Economy. All our classes offering Buddhist teaching are by donation, because we believe that the Buddha's teachings should be freely given. We recommend a donation of £10/£8, but we welcome you however much you can afford to give.
